Mr Michael (Mike) Woodfield is a New Zealand trained and qualified plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon with specialized training from world-renowned surgeons in hand and micro vascular surgery, paediatric plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery.

Mike graduated from Otago Medical School in 1998 and went on to complete a Diploma in Paediatric Medicine from the University of Auckland before pursuing surgical training. He gained valuable experience in general surgery, paediatric surgery and neurosurgery before completing his plastic and reconstructive surgical training in 2010. Following this, he was appointed as a cosmetic plastic surgeon at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland before pursing further fellowship training at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. Working with leading plastic surgeons, Mike became experienced in paediatric plastic surgery, hand and micro vascular surgery and cosmetic surgery.

Mike has served on the National Council of the New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons and is a member of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is the clinical director of plastic surgery at Waikato Hospital, and is involved in the ongoing teaching and training of future plastic surgeons.

Now resident in Hamilton, Mike is passionate about providing the highest standard of surgical expertise and care for the people of Waikato, Taranaki and Bay of Plenty regions.

Mike is an affiliated provider with Southern Cross Healthcare and a regular provider of surgery for ACC. Mike is ready to consult with you in regard to your plastic surgical needs and to individualize your care.
