lip enhancement

Did you know there are many other features that make lips appealing? Features such as the lip border, balance in both the upper and lower lip or symmetry on both the left and right sides. Even details such as smiley sides with corners that turn up, or rich ridges connecting the upper lip to the nose giving that lovely curve to the upper lip, all make lips highly appealing.

At Tristram Appearance Medicine, we consider ourselves artists and try to achieve lips that are in harmony with your facial features. Augmenting is a sophisticated procedure that requires a highly experienced practitioner. We are conscientious to keep up to date with the latest lip procedures and ensure clients are always completely satisfied with their lip enhancement. Lips are delicate and beautiful.

How does it work?

A dermal (skin) filler is a gel which is carefully injected beneath the skin’s surface to diminish the depth of facial folds and wrinkles, and provides definition and volume to lips. The injectable gel acts as a skin “filler” to gently restore structure and volume to the skin. Dermal fillers are used to softly enhance your lips or to smooth out facial wrinkles and folds, and provides a natural look and feel.

Most dermal fillers are made from a natural complex sugar called Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is found naturally within the tissues of living cells, including human skin. HA assists in skin hydration by attracting and holding water and also combines with collagen and elastin to provides skin structure and elasticity. In its natural form, HA is a single chain sugar, which is naturally metabolised (broken down) by the body within days. It is important that a dermal filler is not metabolised by your body quickly, so that the results last for as long as possible. To achieve this, HA is cross-linked, a process by which individual sugar chains are linked together to form a kind of mesh which takes the body much longer to metabolise.

Unlike BOTOX®, which treats dynamic wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkle-forming facial expressions, dermal fillers are placed below the skin’s surface to literally ‘fill in’ or ‘plump up’ the static wrinkles and folds that are present at rest.

Cost

An approximate cost for treating lips is $430-$810.
